BJP government will fall after June 1 voting, claims Abhishek Banerjee
In a candid interview with Star Sports, ahead of the 2023 World Cup, former Indian opening batter Gautam Gambhir has thrown his weight behind Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, as the leading run-scorer in the tournament. With the cricketing extravaganza set to kick off on October 5th in Ahmedabad, Gambhir believes that Babar Azam has the potential to set the tournament ablaze.
Babar Azam's recent form has been a topic of discussion. While he started the Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a blazing 151 off just 131 deliveries against Nepal, helping Pakistan secure a resounding 328-run victory, he struggled in the subsequent matches against Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka, managing only 56 runs. Unfortunately, Pakistan was eliminated from the tournament, finishing at the bottom of the Super 4 stage.
Gambhir expressed his belief in Babar's exceptional batting prowess, placing him above the likes of Virat Kohli, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson. He said, "Babar Azam can set this World Cup on fire. I have seen a lot of players with so much time to bat. I think that Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root are there, but Babar Azam has a different level of capability." As cricket fans eagerly await the World Cup, all eyes will be on Babar Azam, who has received a ringing endorsement from a prominent figure in the cricketing world.
